After all the recent rain the pitches at Ivor Fields are un-playable for the near future.
We have had to cancel the junior, youth, and senior games.
The pitch at Y Pant school is also flooded, so we have no alternative for the time being.
We're in constant touch with the council, who have been unable to take any machinery onto the fields,
pitches have not been cut, or marked, out for weeks.
Hopefully we are over the worst, and we will soon be back to normal.
Georgia John received a standing ovation at last nights presentation, after she raised over £300 from the recent sponsored walk in aid the new changing room fund.
She was presented with a gift voucher from the club for her tremendous effort.

The younger players from the Youth team took part in the Brynna FC festival 7-a-side.
After wins against Cardiff Corries, Llantrisant, and draws against Caerau (Ely) and Brynna 'A', a last game victory against Brynna 'B' set up a final between Pontyclun and hosts Brynna 'A'.
The final finished 0-0 after 15mins, and even 10 mins extra time failed to produce a winner. A sudden death was played with teams taking one player off every 2 mins. From a Pontyclun corner, Brynna broke away to score the winning goal after 30+ minutes, it was the only goal we conceded all day !
Well done boys.

The Under 12's end of season tour to Minehead was a great success with the boys finishing second in their group after playing some excellent football against good teams from all over the country.
Some of the U'12's team attended the TERV league presentation night at Llanbradach, and were given a great reception after achieving the league and cup 'double'.

PHEW ! What a game !!
After going 2 goals up and looking to win the game easily, Pontyclun gave Phoenix a lifeline and boy did they take it.
Phoenix refused to give in and made it a tremendous game, played in great spirit, only sad there had to be a loser on the day. Well done to both teams.
Whatever will be, will be. We're going to ..................Penydarren Park !!

Good Luck Lads !!
Result: Y Pant lost 5-3.
After a long journey (over 3 hours) in a mini-bus through the Welsh mountains, (which caused a few of the team to turn as green as the scenery!), the boys did really well. Considering they were playing one of the best school teams in the country, at their place, with their referee, and the rest of the school surrounding the pitch ! it was a tremendous effort, the boys displayed a wonderfull attitude and were very sporting in defeat, a credit to the school, and Pontyclun. Well done !!
There have been a couple of changes to the the Junior section committee, here are the details :

‘FAIR PLAY ON THE PITCH’
On Saturday (29th September) the Junior and Mini football sections of Pontyclun F.C. are holding a protest against the senior committee decision NOT to allow the children occasional use of the main pitch at Ivor Fields on a Sunday.
We have given assurances that coaches, all of whom are ex-players, and have the best interests of Pontyclun F.C. at heart and appreciate the importance of good standard pitch, will strictly monitor use.
Using the pitch on a Sunday would always allow at least 6 and often (depending on fixture schedules) 13 days before the senior team played their next game, we are also prepared to help with maintenance of the pitch if required.
We hope that the committee can review their decision and all sections can get on with working together for the future of our club.
It is not and never has been our intention to disrupt the Welsh League game due to played there at 2.30. Many of the coaches support the team regularly, home and away. We simply wish to be present to highlight the high numbers of children affiliated to the club, many of whom have the desire and potential to play at senior level in the future.
Thanks for all your support at our recent event, I know it was very short notice but we were still represented by all the age groups, which was great. Special thanks to all the players, coaches, parents, and grandparents who attended.
Many thanks to C.M. supplies, Coed Cae Lane, Pontyclun, who have kindly sponsored our Under 12's new kit for this coming season.

The seniors have organised a car wash for Saturday 8th September, it's the same day as Wales play Germany in a Euro 2008 qualifier @ the Mill Stad (K.O. 7-30pm), so there are no Welsh league games that day.
Try and let as many people know as possible and help them to raise funds.

Many thanks to Dylan Jones and his company for arranging a much needed replacement container at Ifor Fields.
I've put a combination lock on it so any coaches/parents who need the number just give me (Paul R) a call.

HOW TO GET THERE
Some pics from the U-15's tour to Brean Sands, more pics at Charlies Bebo http://it-ain-ova.bebo.com/ site if you REALLY want to see any more
.
Team 2007

Some more pics of the 'laydeeez' would have been nice ! This is as close as Charlie got to any girls all weekend !!

Scowwie models the new tracksuits, and tries to look intelligent at the same time !
BTW.. He should wear those glasses when he's reffing !!

Our under 15's are off to Brean Sands on the Whitsun holiday weekend, to take part in the 'SCI Youth Football Festival'. Good luck to the boys, and good luck to Julia , Neil, and John looking after them !

We sent 4 teams to Lougher FC for their annual "Fun Day", we have been invited for the last few years and the players and families really enjoyed the day out, thankfully the weather held off !
Our teams played very well and all made it through to the finals except the Under 10's ( they won the tournament last year) who missed out by the smallest of margins , all teams were a credit to Pontyclun with their attitude and behaviour.
Thanks to all at Lougher FC for their hospitality and we hope to return again next year.

Our under11's represented their school 'Pontyclun Primary' in the finals of the Welsh schools football festival held at Aberystwyth. They had won through the qualifiers, held recently at Treforest(Above), and represented Rhondda Cynon Taf region.
They played 4 games against schools from all over Wales and won 2 and drew 2, a tremendous effort against some of the most talented primary school football teams in the country.
Well done !
